Dear Friends,

It is very hard to write these words and even harder to believe them. The chairman of the Spolek, our dear friend and brother Daniel, has died.

On Wednesday I spoke with him on the phone. Daniel was tired, but had many ideas and was happy. He was so happy. He was happily preparing to go to Haramsoy, where he wanted to marry Eva. He was thinking hard how to make the wedding nice, so that Eva would be pleased. He thought a lot about what to say in Czech and what in German. He had already bought the plane tickets. He told me his work on his habilitation is going well and so is the preparing of the meeting of the Spolek in November. He was looking forward to his life as a preacher with Eva and their future children. Soon we wanted to meet in Prague. On Saturday Eva called me. I understood the words, but I didn´t want to understand: "Yesterday, Daniel has died."

He went jogging as he did every day. For long time he didn´t come, so Eva called the police. They just found his dead body in the forest. It looks like he has just dropped dead while jogging.

In Daniel´s death, Eva has lost her husband to be, his parents their child, his only sister Nicole her beloved brother, and the Spolek its chairman and Spiritus mentor. It is hard to come to terms with the fact that he has left us forever.

Our only comfort is that Daniel is with our Lord.

We would like to meet on Monday, the 13th of June at 7:00 P.M. in the church of St Martin in the Wall in Prague (Address: Martinská, Praha 1), where we would like to remember Daniel and say goodbye.

The funeral will take place in the church of St. Martin in Pfeffingen, Switzerland, at 2 P.M. on Wednesday 15th June, 2005.

We would like to continue in Daniel´s work for the Spolek and so we ask all the members to come to our meeting from the 11th till the 13th of November 2005, where we would like to discuss the future of the Spolek.

Now, it is Eva and Daniel´s family who need our sympathy and help the most.
